Karen hosts weekly outdoor art event in the Greater Boston Area with the help of the organizers at Boston Art Group. Each week Karen meet her students at different outdoor location offering 2 hour workshop on multiple artistic topics. The workshops are suitable for artist in all level.
This event was put together by a group of Northeastern architecture students, who encourage students from other schools and major to sharing their music, artwork, installations through this event. Karen took part in the visual decoration of the event, performing live drawing and presented 8 pieces at Southwest Corridor Park, Boston, MA.
When Karen started 11th Grade in America, drawing was not only an outlet for stress and loneliness, but a way for her to join communities and make connections. She was pleased about the opportunity to display 6 of her art pieces before graduating from Malden High School, including media like pencil, acrylic, watercolor, and colored pencil.
"Fred's Jacket" is another one of Karen's favorite gray scale piece, as she enjoy mimicking the jacket texture with cross hatching technique, she found that slightly challenging however a satisfying process. The piece was completed in 2017 and awarded the Scholastic Award Honorable mention in 2017.

In 2016, Karen's first piece at Malden High School was awarded a silver key at the Scholastic Writing and Art Awards with the support of her studio art teacher at that time, Ms. Seager.
"Skeleton" is a 20 by 24, pencil on paper still life that took Karen nearly 2 months to complete. This piece was a challenge for her as she had never done any pencil sketches on this scale before coming to America. "Skeleton" getting awarded was an exciting moment for her, which had motivated her to work on her following pieces, "Tricycle" and "Jacket".

This was Karen's first time showing her work to her classmates and the public, which was still a meaningful moment for her till now. The 3 art pieces that were included in the exhibit was "Skeleton", "Tricycle", and her first painting on canvas, "Alter Ego". This gallery was an eye-opening and remarkable experience for her, as it allowed her to admire her fellow classmates' work properly and learn more about others' creative process.
